Sensory Focussed Assessment
This can be face-to-face or online. Suitable for ages 3+ including adults. This is a in-depth assessment of occupational therapy and sensory needs. Please note, I do not offer a tribunal service.
- Sensory assessment questionnaires for home and school.
- Pre-assessment questionnaire for school to gather background information.
- Face-to-face assessment, including use of standardised assessments (usually in my Ulverston clinic but can be online, home or school). I look at how all the sensory systems are working (or not working) together to enable the child to participate in skilled tasks such as reading, writing, concentrating, managing emotions, playing, dressing etc. I conduct an assessment of sensory modulation (looking at hyper and hypo responsivity), sensory integration (which looks at things like postural control, body awareness, bilateral integration and praxis – all underlying skills needed for daily living tasks), visual-motor integration, visual perception, motor coordination, gross and fine motor skills – so I look at everything that could be affecting the child’s ability to participate in everyday life.Â
- Option to add assessment of the effects of attachment and trauma on sensory processing.
- Analysis of the results of the assessments and observations.Â
- Comprehensive report which includes recommendations for school and home based on the identified areas of need.
- Zoom feedback meeting to discuss the report and recommendations.
